Today I shall share with you, A bittersweet love story. A story of jealousy, hate, confusion and love. Forbidden love. But why was the love between Arthur Kirkland and ______ ________, forbidden? I shall not spoil that yet. That is for you to read and see.
Once upon a time, long, long ago, there lived a young girl. One day her parents took her to the park. It was a nice park, but not many people went there. Kids had throughout time disappeared there. People had gained a paranoia, a paranoia that would never go away. But due to the wars of this age most people stayed indoors.
"Wait here," the girls mother said. "Me and dad will just go buy ice cream." They said and left. What the girl did not know when she sat on that swing, was that they were not coming back.
But she waited. Oh yes, she waited. Waited for someone who would never come. Her parents could not afford taking care of her. Or maybe they just didn't care. It is still unknown.
After an hour of waiting the swing next to her was occupied by a young boy. He was probably a little older than her. It was hard to tell.
The boy had not been left like her, he had ran away from home. His older brothers hated him and his younger brother was everyone's favorite. The boy did not feel loved.
As if it was natural, even though they had never met before, they laughed and raced in who could obtain the most speed on the swing. The girl won and since the boy was such a bad loser he chased her around the playground. As they ran over the sandpit the girl suddenly disappeared. There was a hole in the sand and it seemed to have no end. He heard her scream and looked down the hole. It was dark and scary. For some unknown reason he decided to jump down after her. Did they feel some connection?
As the boy and girl fell they ended up in different parts of Wonderland. The boy with the Queen of Hearts and the girl with the Hatter. What the girl never knew, was that the boy, would end up searching for her. His one true companion in Wonderland. But was there nothing more than that to be discovered?
------ Time Skip ------
The queen had watched the boy grow up, from an insecure little boy to a gentleman with beautiful blond hair and shining, emerald green eyes. Her ability of not aging had made her fall for him when he reaches the age she seemed to be. She wished for an eternity with him. An eternity she was guaranteed which he could be given the same way she was given hers. If he agreed.
The queen had, in her fear of death, visited a witch and been given eternal youth. But she was not immortal. Just forever young. At least in looks, but her mind never seemed to grow up either.
But the boy, by the name Arthur Kirkland, who could be given eternal youth if he loved the queen, had something else in mind. Or was it, someone else in mind? He had a faint memory from the past. Or was it a dream? Of a girl he had some connection too. But he had no name of her. All he had was her sweet childish laughter, from a past time. And a face. A face that was adorable, but had changed. He knew that. Unless she had the ability to stay young forever too. Just like the queen.
In the other part of wonderland, the girl had grown as well. She was cute and had [h/l], [h/c] hair and [e/c] eyes. She was a pretty sight indeed. She had grown up with the Hatter. The curious girl had never done what she was told, she was always looking for adventure. But as soon as something dangerous happened, the hatter had to run in and saved her. She was scared of facing danger alone. As she grew though, she became more and more independent. Was that a good or bad thing you may ask. It was actually a good thing. It would assist her in her upcoming future. Even though her fate was set. But can it be changed?
This girl, by the name _______ ________, had a kind soul. Her only enemy was the queen and her men. Even though she had never seen the queen in person, the hatter, who had treated her as his daughter, had told her horrible stories of her deeds that were, by the people called her sins. Now though, the hatter had grown old. But even though he was at an old age, he still had the same energy as ten years ago.
The story begins in the queen's castle. She had shown off her huge ego in the hallways of the castle, where the walls were covered in paintings of her. Even though she really was not too pretty.
The boy, in these days often called the prince, who also was rumored to soon become the king, never liked the queen very much. No matter how much she showed him affection, the boy could not see the kindness she was trying to bring him. That is why she fell for him. He was out of her reach, and her ego wanted EVERYTHING. In this case, including him.
This story starts one evening, when the sky was dyed mysteriously purple. Arthur sat in the main hall, staring out through the window at the purple sky. He thought of the memory he had. The memory of her. It was beginning to blur. He needed to do something, before the memory was gone and he was forced to end up with the queen. He headed to his chamber and collected his sword. It might become handy.
------ England's POV ------
You placed the sword in it's holder on your hip. It had been polished by servants earlier today and it glistened brightly. Reflecting any light in it's way.
You packed down any other useful stuff. Matches, a blanket, an extra sweater. You saved some space for food and headed to the kitchen. You were greeted by the chef and he gave you what you would need for your journey. A journey that was planned to take forever but took far less than that.
You thanked him and headed to the entrance hall. And as expected, the queen was there.
"Arthur my dear, are you planning on going somewhere?"
"I just wish to see the world, not the part I see everyday but the parts I have not yet seen."
"Arthur, Arthur, Arthur... Beyond the walls of the Heart Kingdom is nothing. You would leave just to come back disappointed."
"I doubt that beyond the walls there is just emptiness. And I might come back disappointed but I do not mind. I just feel like I need to open my eyes. Like something is missing."
"As you wish my dear. Come back safely to me after your... Adventure."
The guardsmen opened the big entrance door. As you exited you looked back too see the two guard cards staring back at you with a gaze that did not look friendly. Due to their armor you could not see their numbers but it didn't matter anymore. You were leaving for now anyways.
You walked through the town, heading directly for the gate. It was amazing how easily she had let you go. It was almost frightening. She used to never let you go. She always had a guard around you, but now she was letting you leave the castle on your own? Something was definitely up. As you kept on walking the people greeted you with kind smiles. A lot kinder than the queen had ever smiled at you. She always seemed to hide something.
The walk was not long. On the way you had patted children’s heads and swiftly picked a flower from the side of the road for a pretty lady in the crowd, just to shortly afterwards see an angry gaze from her husband as she almost fainted in her gigantic blush.
You reached the gate and waved the people goodbye. You knew that from here on out you were on your own. You had purposely neglected all guards who wanted to join you for your protection. This was your journey. They would just be in your way. But what they did not know, was the real purpose of this journey. The thing you felt was missing.
You stared at the directions you could go. There were three choices: The dark forest, the flying mountains or the misty plains.
The dark forest was a forest where many had disappeared. It was often called the forest of despair since the ones who entered were rumored the hear their loved ones cry. The flying mountains were a dangerous path where only the ones who could fly were able to pass through. Or some certain others that had special abilities. Though, there was a rumour that a secret bridge was located under the mountains. The misty plains was also a mysterious place. People disappeared there and would return, days later with no eyes and no tongue.
Though, on the other side of the castle, he had been told that there were friendlier paths, but you had a strong feeling that the missing thing was in this direction. It was a tough choice. But you ended up heading for the dark forest. It was not like you had anyone to care for anyways.
It did not take long for him to reach the edge of the forest. You heard the sound of a crow in the tree above you. You watched it flap it's wings and fly away. You shivered and entered the forest. You heard distant animal noises; an owl, more crows and if you were not wrong, a squirrel a few trees away. You increased your speed and kept on heading further into the forest. As you got deeper in, you noticed how it had gone quiet. You could not recall when. Not even the flap of a crows wings could be heard.
Suddenly out of nowhere you heard a wolf's howl. It came from somewhere nearby. It was answered by a distant howl that sounded differently. Was it possible that it was not from a wolf? Shortly after you heard the sound of great paws approaching in a speed you could not outrun. You climbed up in the nearest tree and made it just in time as the wolf came within your sight. It was a majestic creature. It must have been the biggest wolf you had ever seen. The hunters often came back with one or two after their hunt, but this one must be two or even three times bigger. It was brown with big, clear green eyes. It was carrying a white rabbit in it's mouth. You watched it sniff the air and drop the rabbit. It looked around until it noticed you in the tree. Growling at you, it slowly walked towards the tree. It's great, white teeth were showing. Was it possible for an animal to have teeth that white? The wolf suddenly jumped onto the tree and started climbing towards you. Since when can wolves climb trees!? You thought in panic as you started climbing up higher in the tree. Soon you reached the branches that would not hold your weight. You drew your sword to be ready and defend yourself. As the wolf came close enough for you to attack it, it hit the sword out of your hand with it's paw. As it was going for a bite of your foot, the strange howl was heard again, this time there were no doubts. It was human.
