*** Part 13 ***
------ America's POV ------
After killing Bowser you and ______ had gone to bed. She had insisted on taking the couch but you had refused. Some of Arthurs gentleman talk must have gotten stuck somewhere in your brain..?
In the morning she had made you go to school again. She said she couldn't really do anything anyways. Apparently her feet hurt. During the evening you had played videogames again. She had sat next to you on a pillow, looking adorable, biting her tongue while playing Portal. As time passed you felt more and more like a failure. You had promised yourself to ask her. Over and over again the promise had been echoing through your mind. Again the night came and you both went to bed. Again. She soon feel asleep. You watched her for a short moment then you slapped yourself in the face.
'Just why can't I ask her!?' The words echoed through your head.
'Just why, just why can't, can't I ask her, her!?'
Shaking the words off you made yourself one last promise.
'Tomorrow, no matter if I look like a retard or a failure, I MUST ask her. I can't wait any longer.'
The next moment you were AGAIN forced to school... Such a wasted day. Nothing useful had happened and you had almost fallen asleep in class. But the day couldn't be wasted, 'cause you were going to ask her today, right?
'No chickening out this time.'
Since you missed the bus you had to walk home. Silently swearing at the bus you followed the almost straight road. If you only would not have forgotten to refill the fuel of your car this wouldn't have happened... But oh well, there was nothing else to do but to keep on walking. After about an hour you reached the building in which you knew _______ was waiting for you. Your guess was that she had played videogames all day. What an epic life, no school and videogames all day.
Not realizing how much she would miss in life. To ignorant to really see what a pain it must have been.
Opening the door you heard the sound of the television. What game was it this time? Mario was finished. Listening for a moment you realised... Skyrim..? You looked around the corner and yes, there she sat, playing Skyrim.
"Playing Skyrim I see." You said and took a seat next to her.
"Yeah, I wanted to try something new~" Sounding as cute as usual.
"Interesting." You said and grinned.
You watched her play, she wasn't bad, but you would clear the game faster. Probably since you had already cleared it once.
After getting killed she "carefully" placed the control in your lap.
"Now, let's play something we both can play..." She sounded pretty frustrated.
"Sure."
Back to the gaming room, you went to continue with portal 2. She playing as P-Body and you as Atlas. Same as last time the two of you played Portal.
Time passed just like the stages and the evening slowly came. And so did your brains end. You had to tell her, but how? You quickly looked at the clock. 8:49 pm. I have to tell her. I have to tell her now. You took a deep breath.
"God dammit!" She yelled as P-Body fell into the water at the bottom of the stage again.
You chuckled at her. She was so cute when she was frustrated. You felt your well planned words drifting away. Mentally reaching helplessly for them as they fly away. Your brain empty except one goal. To ask her to be yours. No words. No guideline. Just a goal. It seemed impossible. You would look like an idiot as soon as you opened your mouth to speak. You sighed. It was apparently noticed.
"Something wrong?" She looked up at you with big [e/c] eyes.
"Well...." You silenced yourself.
'Don't make yourself look like a fool.'
"You can tell me, you know."
You bit your lower lip. Were you really going to tell her? Yes. No more chickening out.
"Well, these last few days, I have really wanted to ask you something but I just can't figure out a way to ask since I'll make myself look like an idiot..."
"Just ask me, I don't bite."
"I know you don't bite..."
"So what were you wanting to ask me?"
"To... Be mine. Or, I mean to be my girlfriend."
"Why that is not necessary." You looked up at her. What did she mean? "I-I was yours all along."
Stunned you looked down at her. Her adorable face, covered with a red blush. Almost as if moving by yourself your face leaned close to hers. When to close you stopped yourself. Or more precisely, you froze. She noticed and placed her lips softly on yours in a passionate kiss. When the kiss was broken for a need of air she leaned her head on your shoulder. Without effort you cleared it. She was yours. Was this all a dream? You placed her in your lap and she giggled. Could this really be true? Could this really be meant to last? It felt real. It must be real. But did you really deserve something as wonderful as her?
Courage can be hard to gather.
